Single Tooth Missing. Dental implant treatment to replace missing tooth.
SINGLE DENTAL IMPLANT FOR A MISSING TOOTH
This patient presented when he broke a crown off an upper central incisor.

Before: The remaining root was also fractured and needed extracting.

During: A single dental implant was placed.

After: A crown is cemented to the implant restoring appearance and function without damage to the neighbouring teeth

Patient's Testimonial
Due to an accident in my mid teens my front upper left tooth was damaged. Over the years the tooth was repaired several times.

However, in 1997 it deteriorated and had to be removed. I realised that this rather large gap had to be filled(for comfort and appearance reasons). My main concerns were that its replacement should look natural and be as permanent as possible. With visions of a false tooth falling out at inappropriate moments, limited diet or it looking obviously false the choice of replacement was critical.

I was offered various methods of replacing the tooth and after some deliberation I realised that a dental implant would provide the natural look and strength I required.

Although the procedure to fit an implant is more involved than other methods it is definitely worth it. The time span involved is monthly to allow the mouth to repair and grow around the implant naturally which produces a natural looking strong tooth. Every stage of the implant was fully explained to me so I understood what was going to happen and I felt involved with the whole procedure.

I have lived with the implant for almost four years now without any problems, despite living an active life and a very varied diet!

Thank you.
