CAN I HAVE MY TEETH WHITENED?
Yes! All natural teeth can be whitened. However, fillings, crowns (caps) and bridges cannot. These will need to be replaced for a whiter result to match the shade of your whitened teeth.
HOW WHITE WILL MY TEETH GET?
We want to help you get the whitest smile possible. Tooth whitening can be a highly effective way of lightening the natural colour of your teeth without damaging them. In other words, the colour stays the same but gets brighter!
HOW LONG DO MY TEETH REMAIN WHITE?
It depends on your lifestyle. Drinking lots of coffee, tea, soft drinks and wine or smoking tobacco and eating meals with high food colouring content can work against the result.
We recommend the use of the home whitening kit and regular professional cleaning to maintain your white smile!
HOW LONG DOES THE WHITENING PROCEDURE TAKE?
Following an initial assessment, your teeth are whitened in the surgery. This only takes ONE hour! Once completed, you can leave with the gleaming smile you’ve always wanted.
WHAT DOES TOOTH WHITENING INVOLVE?
Your gums are protected and gel is applied to your teeth. You will be asked to wear safety goggles to protect your eyes while a blue light is shone on your teeth. This should not cause you any discomfort.
IS IT SAFE TO WHITEN MY TEETH?
The main ingredient is Hydrogen Peroxide, which has been safely used in tooth whitening for many years. This procedure does not soften your teeth or your fillings.
Very rarely, some people experience slight sensitivity. We recommend you avoid very hot or cold food and drinks for 24 hours following the procedure.
HOW MUCH WILL THIS COST ME?
Please see below to view our fee guide. Fees are explained during the consultation.
WILL MY DENTAL INSURANCE COVER THIS PROCEDURE?
No, as with most cosmetic procedures. If unsure, ask your Insurer.
HOW OLD DO YOU HAVE TO BE?
Currently, the minimum age is 14 years old, with clinical proof of safety and effectiveness. Orthodontic treatment must be completed and braces removed.
CAN I HAVE THIS DONE IF I AM PREGNANT?
While there is no evidence to suggest that it is harmful, we recommend that patients wait until after childbirth and/or nursing.
